Newspapers Here We Come....

Wow, between TV (see an older post) and now the newspaper, I am everywhere all of a sudden. It sure would be nice to get paid for all of this like REAL celebrities do! Oh well, small town girl in a small town world. We were interviewed by the Western Family Magazine because of our "unique" situation at Galesburg Christian School. As I am sure most of you know, Ryan and I graduated from there and now Blake attends the same school. He is the first "second generation" student to enroll. You can check out the article here: www.galesburg.com. Once there you should be a red bar highlighting a few topics. Make sure it is on Home. Under that click Western Family Magazine. Once there click anywhere on the cover and it will download the magazine for you. We are on pages 20 and 21. Don't you just love Blake's face!?!?! He was having a major 5 year old moment. Doesn't he just look so happy to be there! You just got to love him right? I mean what else can you do!

The Surprise Party

Well for those of you reading this who don't know what I am talking about, I planned a Surprise Party for Ryan's 30th Birthday. I am VERY happy to report that it worked. Everything went according to plan. The guest were there, the food, the cake, and then Ryan. All in all we had about 30+ people. Not bad for my first Surprise party. I am so glad I had it, but at the same time I am glad it is over. Do you know how hard it has been not to slip up and say something? I have talked to so many people and wanted to tell Ryan part of the conversation, but couldn't. How frustrating! The cake was absolutely amazing! A huge "Thank You" to Clarice and Antonio! The cake was made to taste and look like a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup (Ryan's favorite) and it did! I think everyone LOVED it! You just have to love something different. For those who couldn't make it, we missed you and wish you were there. Enjoy some pictures from the evening instead.

Random Pictures

Okay so it has been awhile and I am too lazy to sort these out into actual categories, so I am going to clump them together and just write captions underneath. Sorry! I will get the hang of this blogging thing eventually!

We went to the park in Knoxville and had a blast! It is a really fun place. The kids are standing on a wooden pirate ship. They loved the slide. It was actually the fastest one there.

I even got in on the act! It was actually fun. I think I am too old for all the spinning though!

Wow! He can smile and be so handsome when he wants too!

A slight explosion in the microwave! Some friends and I were melting wax to make samples. Well we heard this small little "poof". We opened the microwave and this is what we saw. Ha ha It was so funny, I thought! I wanted a new one anyway! Notice it didn't get on the sides or the top, just the bottom.

Blake's kindergarten class and Ava had a field trip to the Teddy Bear Clinic at the local community college. It was so cute! Their teddy's got checked and they learned a lot about being safe, keeping clean, and exercise.

Dance Fever!

We attended a friend's wedding last night and my 2 "little angels" turned into dancing fools! Oh my goodness! We couldn't keep them off the dance floor. Needless to say they sure slept well last night! The pictures aren't all that great. They were just moving way to much for a great picture.

My Little Ladybug

Ava finally got to wear her ladybug raincoat, and she was so happy! When she first got it, she wore it around the house wanting rain. Well it finally rained yesterday (ignore the date on the picture) and it was like 40 degrees so she got to wear the coat. If that is all it takes to make her happy, boy I could have saved some money on all those toys!

Skating Parties are so FUN!!!

We went to a friend's Skating Party on Saturday and it was so fun! And the best part Ryan and I didn't have to put on skates! I haven't skated in forever, so the thought of Blake and Ava learning to skate while I tried to remember to skate scared me to death! But it all worked out and they had a great time. It wasn't long before they didn't want their hands held and of course they can do it all by themselves.

Mr. Independent! I was really proud of him though, he did a great job.

I have never seen a skate so big. Blake wanted to "drive" it around so bad, but I guess it was broken. Sorry, buddy.
